44TH LEGISLATURE - STATE OF NEW MEXICO - FIRST SESSION, 1999
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE SUPPORT OF VARIOUS STATEWIDE HEALTH SCIENCE PROGRAMS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
A. Three million five hundred twenty-four thousand five hundred dollars ($3,524,500) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the following programs in the following amounts:
(1) for instruction and general programs:
(a) one million five hundred fifty-five thousand six hundred dollars ($1,555,600) for support of the school of medicine primary care instruction program;
(b) seventy-three thousand five hundred dollars ($73,500) for conversion of the physical therapy program to a master's degree program;
(c) three hundred eighty-six thousand nine hundred dollars ($386,900) for public health programs, including the center for population health and the master's in public health program;
(d) fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for support of statewide health information resource activities and library acquisitions; and
(e) three hundred twenty-nine thousand dollars ($329,000) for reduction of the indirect cost credit;
(2) for special programs:
(a) five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for support of various programs at Carrie Tingley children's hospital;
(b) three hundred twenty thousand seven hundred dollars ($320,700) for support of the office of the state medical investigator; and
(c) three hundred eight thousand eight hundred dollars ($308,800) for support of the pediatric oncology program.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
