Honorable President and Members of the Senate:

I have this day VETOED and am returning SENATE BILL 120, as amended, enacted by the Forty-Fourth Legislature, First Session, 1999.

This bill requires the Commission on Higher Education to develop and implement a statewide, coordinated dental education career ladder program to include all appropriate, state supported and post-secondary educational institutions.

I am vetoing this bill because post-secondary institutions already have the ability to develop and offer curriculum and programs based on their determination of need and demand.
