0011|     MAKING APPROPRIATION FROM THE STATE ROAD FUND FOR ROAD

0012|     IMPROVEMENTS IN MCKINLEY AND SAN JUAN COUNTIES; DECLARING AN

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--
    |
0017|               A.  One million fifteen thousand five hundred
    |
0018|     dollars ($1,015,500) is appropriated from the state road fund
    |
0019|     to the state highway and transportation department for
    |
0020|     expenditure in fiscal years 1998 though 2001 for the following
    |
0021|     purposes:
    |
0022|                    (1)  seventy thousand dollars ($70,000) for
    |
0023|     archaeological and environmental clearances for Rio Lobo road
    |
0024|     located in McKinley county; 
    |
0025|                    (2)  one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000)

0001|     to plan, design and construct Little Willie road in Thoreau
    |
0002|     located in McKinley county; 
    |
0003|                    (3)  fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for
    |
0004|     improvements to the Canoncito road system in Bernalillo

    |
0006|                    (4)  thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) to
    |
0007|     complete right-of-way acquisition and assessments for N96, the
    |
0008|     Crystal Canyon road in McKinley county; 
    |
0009|                    (5)  fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to
    |
0010|     improve Refuge road located in McKinley county; 
    |
0011|                    (6)  seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000)
    |
0012|     to complete a corridor study or plan and design or construct a
    |
0013|     road and bridge in the Hassler Valley area in McKinley county; 
    |
0014|                    (7)  sixty-seven thousand dollars ($67,000) to
    |
0015|     improve streets in Thoreau located in McKinley county; 
    |
0016|                    (8)  seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000)
    |
0017|     for right-of-way acquisition or to plan and design
    |
0018|     improvements to county roads in the vicinity of the chapter
    |
0019|     house and Chee Dodge elementary school in Rock Springs located
    |
0020|     in McKinley county; 
    |
0021|                    (9)  one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000)
    |
0022|     to make improvements to Sundance road, county road 16 located
    |
0023|     in McKinley county;
    |
0024|                    (10)  seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000)

0025|     to pave roads between the Tsayatoh chapter house and Black Hat

0002|                    (11)  twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) to

0003|     plan, design or construct a gravel parking area, paved
    |
0004|     sidewalk or fence for the Pueblo Pintado health clinic located

0005|     in McKinley county; 
    |
0006|                    (12)  fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to
    |
0007|     improve Dalton Pass loop road located in McKinley county; 
    |
0008|                    (13)  twenty-four thousand dollars ($24,000)
    |
0009|     to complete right-of-way acquisition and assessments for
    |
0010|     county road 7500 from Nageezi to McKinley county; 
    |
0011|                    (14)  thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000)
    |
0012|     to complete right-of-way acquisition and assessments for
    |
0013|     county road 7750 near Lake Valley located in McKinley county; 
    |
0014|                    (15)  fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to
    |
0015|     complete right-of-way acquisition and assessments for school
    |
0016|     bus routes near Sanostee in San Juan county; 
    |
0017|                    (16)  sixty-five thousand dollars ($65,000) to
    |
0018|     complete right-of-way acquisition or clearances for N5012 from
    |
0019|     Sanostee to Mitten Rock in San Juan county; 
    |
0020|                    (17)  forty-nine thousand five hundred dollars
    |
0021|     ($49,500) to widen and upgrade the old N36 road system in
    |
0022|     Upper Fruitland located in San Juan county; 
    |
0023|                    (18)  twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000)
    |
0024|     to complete right-of-way acquisition or clearances for N69
    |
0025|     near Naschitti located in San Juan county; and
    |

0001|                    (19)  five thousand dollars ($5,000) to
    |
0002|     complete right-of-way acquisition or clearances for N5031 at
    |
0003|     Hogback located in San Juan county.     
    |
0004|               B.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0005|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the
    |
0006|     state road fund.
    |
0007|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0008|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect
    |
0009|     immediately.
