0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO BOARD

0012|     OF REGENTS FOR CANCER RESEARCH AND TREATMENT; DECLARING AN
    |
0013|     EMERGENCY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Three million five hundred
    |
0017|     thousand dollars ($3,500,000) is appropriated from the general
    |
0018|     fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico
    |
0019|     for expenditure in fiscal year 1999 for the purpose of
    |
0020|     expanding or continuing cancer-related research and treatment
    |
0021|     of cancer patients.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0022|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the
    |
0023|     general fund.

0024|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0025|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect
    |
