0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR OPERATION OF EXISTING DRUG COURTS;

0012|     DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars
    |
0016|     ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0017|     administrative office of the courts for expenditure in fiscal
    |
0018|     year 1999 to provide funding for existing drug courts in the
    |
0019|     judicial districts.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0020|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the
    |
0021|     general fund.
    |
0022|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0023|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect
    |
0024|     immediately.
