0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND

0012|     ADMINISTRATION TO PROVIDE SALARY INCREASES FOR CERTAIN MEMBERS

0013|     OF THE JUDICIARY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--
    |
0017|               A.  Five hundred seventy-nine thousand nine hundred
    |
0018|     dollars ($579,900) is appropriated from the general fund to
    |
0019|     the department of finance and administration for expenditure
    |
0020|     in fiscal year 1999 for the purpose of:
    |
0021|                    (1)  increasing the salary of the chief
    |
0022|     justice of the supreme court to ninety thousand dollars
    |
0023|     ($90,000);
    |
0024|                    (2)  increasing salaries for justices of the
    |
0025|     supreme court, the chief judge of the court of appeals, judges
    |

0001|     of the court of appeals, district court judges, metropolitan
    |
0002|     court judges and magistrate judges pursuant to the provisions
    |
0003|     of Section 34-1-9 NMSA 1978; and
    |
0004|                    (3)  increasing salaries for child support
    |
0005|     hearing officers and special commissioners.
    |
0006|               B.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0007|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the
    |
0008|     general fund.
