0011| PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE 4 OF THE CONSTITUTION OF NEW

0012| MEXICO TO PROVIDE A REVISED ELECTION CYCLE FOR MEMBERS OF THE

0015| BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0016| Section 1. It is proposed to amend Article 4, Section 4
|
0017| of the constitution of New Mexico to read:
|
0018| "A. Members of the legislature shall be elected
|
0019| as follows: [those senators from Bernalillo, Chaves, Curry,
|
0020| DeBaca, Grant, Lea, Lincoln, Luna, Sandoval, San Juan, San
|
0021| Miguel, Socorro, Taos, Torrance, Union and Valencia counties
|
0022| for a term of six years starting January 1, 1961, and after
|
0023| serving such terms shall be elected for a term of four years
|
0024| thereafter; those senators from all other counties for the
|
0025| terms of four years, and]
