SENATE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST 498

43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998
REQUESTED BY
LEONARD TSOSIE
FOR HEAD START FACILITIES IN MCKINLEY COUNTY.
I request that the following capital outlay projects be
funded:
to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs:
A. one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to plan,
design, construct, renovate, repair or equip a head start
facility at Dalton Pass in McKinley county;
B. one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to plan,

design, construct, renovate, repair or equip a head start
facility at Torreon in McKinley county;
C. eighty-four thousand dollars ($84,000) for purchase
and equipping, including two-way communication devices, two
twenty-two passenger buses for the two Canoncito head start
programs in McKinley county;
D. forty-two thousand dollars ($42,000) for purchase
and equipping, including two-communication devices, a bus for the
Smith Lake head start program in McKinley county;
E. thirty-two thousand dollars ($32,000) for purchase
and equipping a large passenger utility vehicle for service
deliveries of the Rincon Marquis head start program in McKinley
county; and
F. two hundred ten thousand dollars ($210,000) to
purchase and install, including necessary electrical system
improvements, educational technology and accessories for each of
the forty-two head start programs in the New Mexico portion of

the eastern Navajo nation in McKinley county.
