                      STATE OF NEW MEXICO
            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS IN SENATE DISTRICT 32.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be
funded:

                    to the local government division of the department of
          finance and administration:
          
          A.  one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to plan,
design, construct, equip and furnish an addition to the volunteer
fire department and community center facility at Midway in Chaves
county;

          B.  one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for a
maintenance building in the town of Dexter in Chaves county;

          C.  two hundred thirteen thousand seven hundred dollars
($213,700) for an addition to the town hall in Dexter in Chaves
county;

          D.  eighty-five thousand dollars ($85,000) to purchase
a backhoe for the town of Dexter in Chaves county;

          E.  six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) to
construct a facility to provide comprehensive child development
and family support services in Chaves county;

          F.  fifty-four thousand dollars ($54,000) to build a
handicap-accessible restroom and concession facility for the
youth baseball field in the town of Hagerman in Chaves county;

          G.  twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) to renovate
the law enforcement house in the town of Lake Arthur in Chaves
county; and

          H.  five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to design,
construct, equip and furnish a new fire department building in
the town of Lake Arthur in Chaves county;

                    to the state department of public education:
     
          A.  eight hundred sixty thousand dollars ($860,000) to
renovate the track and stadium facilities at Dexter consolidated
schools in Chaves county; and

          B.  one million dollars ($1,000,000) for capital
improvements to the cafeterias in the Hagerman school district in
Chaves county;

                    to the department of environment:

          A.  twenty-two thousand three hundred dollars ($22,300)
for renovations to the water tank system in the town of Dexter in
Chaves county; and

          B.  one hundred fifty-three thousand dollars ($153,000)
to complete a water system upgrade in the town of Hagerman in
Chaves county; and

                    to the state highway and transportation department:
     
          A.  four hundred four thousand one hundred dollars
($404,100) for phase two street improvements in the town of

          B.  two hundred one thousand two hundred dollars
($201,200) to make road improvements in the town of Lake Arthur
in Chaves county.
