                      STATE OF NEW MEXICO
            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

                           REQUESTED BY
                           GLORIA HOWES           





FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS IN THE NAVAJO COMMUNITY IN MCKINLEY COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs:

          A.  one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) for a feasibility study to
plan, design and implement improvements to a sewage lagoon in Navajo in McKinley county;

          B.  thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) to purchase a school bus or van for
transporting citizens to and from school programs in Navajo in McKinley county; and

          C.  six thousand dollars ($6,000) for streetlight bulb replacement in Navajo in
<center>- 1 -</center>

McKinley county; and
     
                    to the state highway and transportation department:
     
                           three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) to resurface and improve existing
          streets in Navajo in McKinley county.
