                      STATE OF NEW MEXICO
            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS TO THE COURTS IN LEA COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the local government division of the department of finance and administration:

          A.  six hundred fifty thousand dollars ($650,000) to make improvements to the
Lea county courthouse in Hobbs in Lea county; and
     
          B.  five hundred fifty thousand dollars ($550,000) to construct a new court
building in Hobbs in Lea county.
