                      STATE OF NEW MEXICO
            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

                           REQUESTED BY

FOR RED LAKE CAPITAL OUTLAY PROJECTS LOCATED IN MCKINLEY COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the state highway and transportation department:

          A.  one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to complete an unfinished gravel
road and chip seal Navajo route N112 from the New Mexico state line to the Red Lake chapter
house located in McKinley county; and

          B.  eight thousand dollars ($8,000) to purchase right-of-way clearance for the
construction of powerlines near Red Lake located in McKinley county; and

                    to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs:

                    one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to purchase, install, equip and
          furnish a modular office building and to design, construct, install and equip
          renovation to the Red Lake head start center located in McKinley county.
