SENATE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST 80 
                                
                      STATE OF NEW MEXICO
            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

                           REQUESTED BY

FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS IN ROOSEVELT COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the local government division of the department of finance and administration:
          
          A.  two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000) to complete
renovations of the courthouse complex, including offices of the district court, the district court
clerk, judges, the child support hearing officer, the law library, juvenile probation and the
district attorney, in Roosevelt county;

          B.  six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) for renovations of the heating,
ventilation and air conditioning systems at the courthouse complex in Roosevelt county;

          C.  thirty-five thousand dollars ($35,000) for a community center in Roosevelt
county;

          D.  one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to repair and renovate
buildings at the Roosevelt county fairgrounds;

          E.  one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to purchase and remodel  a
building to accommodate the district attorney in Roosevelt county; and

          F.  thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) for a community services center in Portales
in Roosevelt county;                                             

                    to the state highway and transportation department:
     
                    five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for road repair and maintenance in
          Roosevelt county; and




                    to the state agency on aging:

                    fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to purchase a van for the Dora senior citizen
          center in Roosevelt county.
