                      STATE OF NEW MEXICO
            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

                           REQUESTED BY

FOR LEA COUNTY CAPITAL REQUESTS.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the state agency on aging:
     
                    forty thousand dollars ($40,000) to purchase a handicapped
          accessible van for the Tatum senior citizens program in
          Lea county;

                    to the state highway and transportation department:

          A.  five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for street

repairs in Lovington; and

          B.  one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for street
repairs in Tatum; and

                    to the state department of public education:

                    four million dollars ($4,000,000) to renovate and
          construct, equip and furnish a vision quest technology
          center for the Lovington public schools in Lea county.
