0011|     RELATING TO STATE OFFICIALS; INCREASING THE SALARY OF THE

0012|     LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  Section 8-3-3 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1971,
    |
0016|     Chapter 138, Section 3, as amended) is amended to read:
    |
0017|          "8-3-3.  COMPENSATION.--For the performance of the duties
    |
0018|     established in Section 8-3-1 NMSA 1978, the lieutenant
    |
0019|     governor shall receive an annual compensation of <s>[sixty-five

0022|          Section 2.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred two thousand

0023|     dollars ($102,000) is appropriated from the general fund to
    |
0024|     the office of the lieutenant governor for expenditure in
    |
0025|     fiscal year 1999 to pay the salary increase of the lieutenant
    |

0001|     governor.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at

0002|     the end of fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the general fund.
