0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO SUPPORT PUBLIC SERVICE LEARNING

0012|     INITIATIVES.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred eighty thousand
    |
0016|     dollars ($280,000) is appropriated from the general fund to
    |
0017|     the state department of public education for expenditure in
    |
0018|     fiscal year 1999 for the purpose of providing service learning
    |
0019|     training for local school board members, school district
    |
0020|     administrators and employees of the state department of public
    |
0021|     education and expanding public service learning initiatives in
    |
0022|     nine regions of the state so that all students, including
    |
0023|     students with disabilities, are afforded public service
    |
0024|     learning opportunities.  Any unexpended or unencumbered
    |
0025|     balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1999 shall revert
    |
