0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO FOR

0012|     THE NURSE-MIDWIFERY PROGRAM; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred fifty thousand
    |
0016|     dollars ($350,000) is appropriated from the general fund to
    |
0017|     the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for
    |
0018|     expenditure in fiscal years 1998 and 1999 to continue the
    |
0019|     nurse-midwifery program in the college of nursing.  Any
    |
0020|     unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0021|     fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0022|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0023|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect
    |
0024|     immediately.
