0013|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE PROMOTION OF TOURISM.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--
    |
0017|               A.  Three million six hundred thousand dollars
    |
0018|     ($3,600,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0019|     tourism department for expenditure in fiscal year 1999 for the
    |
0020|     promotion of tourism in the following manner:
    |
0021|                    (1)  two million dollars ($2,000,000) for
    |
0022|     state and international multimedia advertising;
    |
0023|                    (2)  one million one hundred thousand dollars
    |
0024|     ($1,100,000) for community pass-through funding for generating
    |
0025|     regional and community marketing; and
    |
<center>- 1 -</center>0001|                    (3)  five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000)
    |
0002|     to fulfill telephone and letter inquiries into New Mexico by
    |
0003|     providing requested information.
    |
0004|               B.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0005|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the
    |
0006|     general fund.
