0011| REQUESTING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES

0012| RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION TO APPOINT A COMMITTEE TO DEVELOP PLANS

0013| TO COMMEMORATE THE FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES

0014| RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION.

0016| WHEREAS, by Laws 1947, Chapter 167, the New Mexico
|
0017| legislature established the public employees retirement
|
0018| association for the purpose of providing a retirement fund for
|
0019| the public servants of the state and its counties,
|
0020| municipalities and political subdivisions; and
|
0021| WHEREAS, August 1, 1997 will be the fiftieth anniversary
|
0022| of the establishment of the public employees retirement
|
0023| association retirement fund; and
|
0024| WHEREAS, the fiftieth anniversary of the public employees
|
0025| retirement association, as well as the substantial
|
0001| contributions to the public good made by the dedicated public
|
0002| servants who are past and present members and retirees of the
|
0003| public employees retirement association, are worthy and justly
|
0004| deserving of commemoration;
|
0005| NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE
|
0006| STATE OF NEW MEXICO that congratulations on the fiftieth
|
0007| anniversary of the public employees retirement association be
|
0008| extended to the past and present public employees retirement
|
0009| association members and retirees; and
|
0010| BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the executive director of the
|
0011| public employees retirement association be requested to appoint
|
0012| a committee of at least six persons to develop plans to
|
0013| commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the public employees
|
0014| retirement association and to recognize the past and present
|
0015| association members and retirees; and
|
0016| BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be
|
0017| transmitted to the executive director of the public employees
|
0018| retirement association and the chairman of the retirement
|
0019| board.
