0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROMOTE INCREASED ECONOMIC

0012|     DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOW-INCOME RESIDENTS OF SAN JUAN,

0013|     CIBOLA AND MCKINLEY COUNTIES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION--SAN JUAN, CIBOLA AND MCKINLEY
    |
0017|     COUNTIES.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is
    |
0018|     appropriated from the general fund to the local government
    |
0019|     division of the department of finance and administration for
    |
0020|     expenditure in fiscal years 1997 and 1998 to enable the
    |
0021|     northwest New Mexico council of governments to support the
    |
0022|     efforts of the economic development district that is designated
    |
0023|     by the federal economic development administration to serve the
    |
0024|     counties of San Juan, Cibola and McKinley in the district's
    |
0025|     efforts to establish community-based economic development.  Any
    |
0001|     unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0002|     fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0003|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0004|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
