0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR VICTIMS OF

0012|     DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, FOR THE HOMELESS AND FOR PERSONS EXITING THE

0013|     PRISON SYSTEM.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One million five hundred
    |
0017|     thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the general
    |
0018|     fund to the state housing authority of the economic development
    |
0019|     department for expenditure in fiscal year 1998 for the purpose
    |
0020|     of providing transitional housing for victims of domestic
    |
0021|     violence, the homeless and persons exiting the prison system. 
    |
0022|     Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0023|     fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
