0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE

0012|     UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO FOR GRADUATE STUDENT RESEARCH,

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board
    |
0018|     of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in
    |
0019|     fiscal year 1998 for the office of graduate studies to provide
    |
0020|     funding for research, projects and related expenses for
    |
0021|     graduate and professional students.  Any unexpended or
    |
0022|     unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998
    |
0023|     shall revert to the general fund.
