0011| RELATING TO THE CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES DEPARTMENT;

0012| PROVIDING QUALIFICATIONS FOR CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS OF THE

0013| DEPARTMENT; ENACTING A NEW SECTION OF THE NMSA 1978.

0015| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
|
0016| Section 1. CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS--CHILDREN, YOUTH AND
|
0017| FAMILIES DEPARTMENT--QUALIFICATIONS.--Correctional officers of
|
0018| the children, youth and families department shall:
|
0019| A. be citizens of the United States;
|
0020| B. be eighteen years of age or older;
|
0021| C. possess a high school education or its
|
0022| equivalent;
|
0023| D. be of good moral character and not have been
|
0024| convicted of a felony offense by a court of this state, any
|
0025| other state or the United States; and
|
0001| E. successfully pass a physical examination and an
|
0002| aptitude examination administered by the department.
|
0003| Section 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.--The effective date of the
|
0004| provisions of this act is July 1, 1997.
