0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE FOR

0012|     THE SECOND JUDICIAL DISTRICT TO PROVIDE STAFF FOR AND OPERATE A

0013|     PRIORITY REPEAT OFFENDER PROGRAM.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thirty-seven
    |
0017|     thousand eight hundred dollars ($537,800) is appropriated from
    |
0018|     the general fund to the district attorney's office for the
    |
0019|     second judicial district for expenditure in fiscal year 1998
    |
0020|     for the purpose of paying salaries and benefits and providing
    |
0021|     furniture, equipment and supplies for eleven full-time
    |
0022|     employees, who will be the staff for the priority repeat
    |
0023|     offender program.  The priority repeat offender program will
    |
0024|     target and prosecute repeat offenders.  Any unexpended or
    |
0025|     unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998
    |
0001|     shall revert to the general fund.
