  that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
  
      1.  On page 2, line 20, strike "five hundred dollars ($500)"
  and insert in lieu thereof "two hundred fifty dollars "($250),
  
  and thence referred to the PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE.
