0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO IMPLEMENT TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT

0012|     PRINCIPLES IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand
    |
0016|     dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0017|     state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal
    |
0018|     year 1998 for the purpose of contracting for the services of a
    |
0019|     community-based organization representing business, education
    |
0020|     and state government to implement total quality management
    |
0021|     principles in selected public schools throughout the state. 
    |
0022|     Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0023|     fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
