0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PAY FOR THE COST OF PROVIDING SCHOOL

0012|     LUNCHES TO STUDENTS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Eight hundred sixty-four
    |
0016|     thousand six hundred seventy-eight dollars ($864,678) is
    |
0017|     appropriated from the general fund to the state department of
    |
0018|     public education for expenditure in fiscal year 1998 for the
    |
0019|     purpose of paying for the cost of meals provided to students
    |
0020|     attending public schools to be distributed based on each school 
    |
0021|     district's daily need.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0022|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the
    |
0023|     general fund.
