0011|     RELATING TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT FINANCES; ENACTING A NEW SECTION

0012|     OF THE NMSA 1978; PROVIDING FOR DISPOSITION OF PUBLIC MONEY BY

0013|     A MUNICIPALITY OR VILLAGE HAVING NO BANKING FACILITY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  A new section of Chapter 6, Article 6 NMSA
    |
0017|     1978 is enacted to read:
    |
0018|          "[<u>NEW MATERIAL</u>]  RECEIPTS OF PUBLIC MONEY--DISPOSITION
    |
0019|     BY CERTAIN MUNICIPALITIES.--For any municipality or village
    |
0020|     having within its boundaries no suitable banking facility in
    |
0021|     which to deposit collected receipts of public money, the local
    |
0022|     government division of the department of finance and
    |
0023|     administration shall grant a waiver of the daily deposit
    |
0024|     requirement to allow deposits of the receipts within a period
    |
0025|     not to exceed eight days from the date of collection, provided
    |
0001|     the municipality or village adopts a reasonable administrative
    |
0002|     policy approved by the local government division establishing
    |
0003|     procedures for the safeguarding of the public funds prior to
    |
0004|     deposit."
