0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR STATEWIDE CULTURAL, EDUCATIONAL AND

0012|     HISTORICAL ACTIVITIES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand
    |
0016|     dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0017|     office of cultural affairs for expenditure in fiscal years 1997
    |
0018|     and 1998 for the purpose of funding the New Mexico endowment
    |
0019|     for the humanities to sponsor cultural, educational and
    |
0020|     historical activities statewide.  Any unexpended or
    |
0021|     unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998
    |
0022|     shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0023|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0024|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
