SALAZAR | 0005| | 0006| | 0007| | 0008| | 0009| | 0010| AN ACT | 0011| MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR VARIOUS SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAMS | 0012| THROUGHOUT NEW MEXICO. | 0013| | 0014| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO: | 0015| Section 1. APPROPRIATION.-- | 0016| A. Five million one hundred thirteen thousand seven | 0017| hundred thirty-six dollars ($5,113,736) is appropriated from | 0018| the general fund to the state agency on aging for expenditure | 0019| in fiscal year 1998 for the following purposes and in the | 0020| following amounts: | 0021| (1) three million eight hundred seventeen | 0022| thousand nine hundred fifty-six dollars ($3,817,956) to the six | 0023| area agencies on aging for senior services, including case | 0024| management, respite care, including Alzheimer's respite care, | 0025| adult daycare, congregate meals, transportation and in-home | 0001| services; | 0002| (2) seven hundred twenty-three thousand one | 0003| hundred eighty dollars ($723,180) to provide increased | 0004| volunteer positions for the foster grandparent, senior | 0005| companion and retired senior volunteer programs; | 0006| (3) one hundred forty-four thousand five | 0007| hundred dollars ($144,500) for increased information and | 0008| assistance and consultation and education services for | 0009| individuals with Alzheimer's disease or related disorders and | 0010| their families or caregivers; | 0011| (4) twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) for | 0012| statewide senior citizen olympics activities; | 0013| (5) two hundred seventy-eight thousand two | 0014| hundred dollars ($278,200) for statewide long-term care | 0015| ombudsman services; and | 0016| (6) one hundred twenty-nine thousand nine | 0017| hundred dollars ($129,900) for an elder rights initiative | 0018| assisting older individuals to access the medicaid managed care | 0019| system. | 0020| B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining | 0021| at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general | 0022| fund. | 0023|  | 0024| |
