APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars | 0015| ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state | 0016| department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year | 0017| 1998 for the purpose of funding a mentoring, broad-based | 0018| educational program that uses a mentor/prot‚g‚ model to work | 0019| with New Mexico students in the areas of science, art, | 0020| humanities and mathematics. This appropriation is contingent | 0021| upon matching funds from sources other than state funds.
