0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE SECOND JUDICIAL DISTRICT TO

0012|     STUDY THE CONSOLIDATION OF THE DISTRICT COURT AND METROPOLITAN

0013|     COURT INTO A UNIFIED COURT FOR BERNALILLO COUNTY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the second
    |
0018|     judicial district for expenditure in fiscal year 1998 to study
    |
0019|     the feasibility of a unified court in Bernalillo county.  The
    |
0020|     second judicial district shall keep the interim courts,
    |
0021|     corrections and criminal justice committee apprised of the
    |
0022|     study's progress and make a final report, including
    |
0023|     recommendations, to the committee and the legislature by
    |
0024|     November 1, 1997.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0025|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the
    |
0001|     general fund.
