FORTY-SECOND LEGISLATURE SB 490/a SECOND SESSION, 1996 February 4, 1996 Mr. President: Your INDIAN & CULTURAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred SENATE BILL 490 has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows: 1. On page 1, line 11, strike "AN APPROPRIATION" and insert in lieu thereof "APPROPRIATIONS". 2. On page 1, line 13, strike "IN SAN JUAN COUNTY" and insert in lieu thereof "FOR A BUS FOR THE COCHITI HEADSTART PROGRAM AND FOR RECREATIONAL FACILITIES AT COCHITI PUEBLO.". 3. On page 1, line 24, after the period insert the following new sections to read: "Section 2. APPROPRIATION.--Forty thousand dollars ($40,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 1997 for the purpose of purchasing a bus for the headstart program at Cochiti pueblo in Sandoval county. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund. Section 3. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 1997 to equip and upgrade recreational facilities at Cochiti pueblo in Sandoval county. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.", and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
