0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A PROGRAM FOR AT-RISK YOUTH TO

0013|     CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATION AND AVOID DRUG ABUSE AND GANG ACTIVITY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0016|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0018|     children, youth and families department for expenditure in
    |
0019|     fiscal year 1997 for the purpose of supporting a multiple-site
    |
0020|     program of a nonprofit organization for at-risk youth, to
    |
0021|     encourage continued education and avoid drug abuse and gang
    |
0022|     activity, located in a class A county with a population of more
    |
0023|     than three hundred thousand people.  Any unexpended or
    |
0024|     unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997
    |
0025|     shall revert to the general fund.
