0012| MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO FINANCE AUTHORITY FOR

0013| DEVELOPMENT OF A PLAN FOR A GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM.

0015| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
|
0016| Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
|
0017| A. Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated
|
0018| from the general fund to the New Mexico finance authority for
|
0019| expenditure in fiscal year 1997 for the purpose of developing or
|
0020| contracting for the development of a plan for a geographic
|
0021| information system to serve all New Mexico. In developing the
|
0022| plan, the authority shall at a minimum:
|
0023| (1) review the status of current base maps and
|
0024| geographic information data accessible in counties throughout
|
0025| New Mexico and identify the desirable features of a fully
|
0001| developed geographic information system for all New Mexico
|
0002| counties;
|
0003| (2) identify counties where the need for a
|
0004| geographic information system is greatest;
|
0005| (3) identify interested private and public
|
0006| parties and information resources and work with those private
|
0007| and public parties and information resources to develop the plan
|
0008| for a full and complete statewide geographic information system;
|
0009| (4) determine implementation costs and possible
|
0010| funding sources;
|
0011| (5) review other geographic information systems
|
0012| around the state, including those maintained by the state land
|
0013| office, federal laboratories and title companies; and
|
0014| (6) complete the plan and submit it to the New
|
0015| Mexico finance authority oversight committee by November 1,
|
0016| 1996.
|
0017| B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining
|
0018| at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.
