0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO CHARTER

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0016|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Eighty thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($80,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state
    |
0018|     department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year
    |
0019|     1997 to plan and provide budgeting assistance to five schools
    |
0020|     that have been authorized to be charter schools.  Any unexpended
    |
0021|     or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997
    |
0022|     shall not revert to the general fund.
