0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC

0013|     EDUCATION TO PROVIDE A FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM AT WILSON MIDDLE

0014|     SCHOOL IN BERNALILLO COUNTY.

0016|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0017|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred sixty thousand
    |
0018|     dollars ($160,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0019|     state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal
    |
0020|     year 1997 for the purpose of contracting for services to provide
    |
0021|     a family support program that is located at Wilson middle school
    |
0022|     and also serves Whittier, Emerson and Kirtland elementary
    |
0023|     schools in Bernalillo county.  The family support program shall
    |
0024|     include elements that address communication and listening
    |
0025|     skills, conflict resolution skills, problem-solving skills,
    |
0001|     decision-making skills, parenting skills and alcohol and drug
    |
0002|     education.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining
    |
0003|     from this appropriation at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall
    |
0004|     revert to the general fund.

    |
0002|   committee by November 1, 1996 detailing the benefits to the state
    |
0003|   of New Mexico from having implemented this program.".,
    |

    |
0005|   and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE
    |
0006|   COMMITTEE.
