0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE STATEWIDE INDEPENDENT LIVING

0013|     SERVICES TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0018|     vocational rehabilitation division of the state department of
    |
0019|     public education for expenditure in fiscal year 1997 for the
    |
0020|     purpose of expanding consumer-controlled, community-based
    |
0021|     independent living services, including peer counseling,
    |
0022|     information and referral, systems advocacy, life skills training
    |
0023|     and other related services to people with disabilities in
    |
0024|     priority areas of the state, as determined by the statewide
    |
0025|     independent living council.  Any unexpended or unencumbered
    |
0001|     balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to
    |
0002|     the general fund.
