0017|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW
    |
0018|     MEXICO:
    |
0019|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATIONS.--
    |
0020|            A.  The following amounts are appropriated from
    |
0021|     the general fund to the board of regents of the university
    |
0022|     of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 1997 for the
    |
0023|     following purposes:
    |
0024|                 (1)  three hundred one thousand one hundred
    |
0025|     dollars ($301,100) for operational costs associated with
    |
0001|     expansion of the nurse distance education program;
    |
0002|                 (2)  two hundred fifty-four thousand
    |
0003|     dollars ($254,000) for operational costs associated with
    |
0004|     expansion of the primary care physician assistant training
    |
0005|     program; and
    |
0006|                      (3)  one hundred thousand dollars
    |
0007|     ($100,000) for operational costs associated with expansion
    |
0008|     of the locum tenens program to provide temporary
    |
0009|     substitutes for rural physicians.
    |
0010|            B.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0011|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to
    |
0012|     the general fund.
