AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION TO IMPLEMENT STATEWIDE INTERDISCIPLINARY LEGAL REPRESENTATION FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN CASES ARISING UNDER THE CHILDREN'S CODE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2024 for the office of family representation and advocacy to implement statewide interdisciplinary legal representation for children and families in cases arising under the Children's Code. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2024 shall revert to the general fund.
