AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR THE REDESIGN OF MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal years 2024 and 2025 for the redesign of middle schools and junior high schools statewide. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2025 shall revert to the general fund.
