Mr. President:
Your HEALTH AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 247
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 7, line 19, after the period, strike the remainder of the line, strike all of line 20 and strike line 21 through the period.
2. On page 11, lines 13 through 22, strike Subsection G in its entirety.
3. Reletter the succeeding subsection accordingly.
4. On page 32, line 15, after "person", insert:
"who is not an active duty member of the armed forces deployed or stationed in New Mexico or the spouse or dependent of an active duty member of the armed forces deployed or stationed in New Mexico".
5. On page 32, line 16, after "license", insert "without being licensed by a licensing board of this state".
6. On page 32, between lines 18 and 19, insert a new paragraph to read:
"(3) a person who is an active duty member of the armed forces deployed or stationed in New Mexico or the spouse or dependent of an active duty member of the armed forces deployed or stationed in New Mexico shall not practice for more than five years in New Mexico on a compact-related license without being licensed by a licensing board of this state, and the person may apply for an expedited license if the person wishes to continue to practice in New Mexico;".
7. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.
8. On page 32, line 22, after "body", insert "that would require the force of law in a party state to be effective".,
and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
