AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE HIGHER EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR PROGRAMS THAT ADDRESS PHYSICIAN SHORTAGES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven million five hundred thousand dollars ($7,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the higher education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2024 and subsequent fiscal years for programs that address physician shortages, including outreach, minority student services and enhancing and expanding graduate medical education opportunities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
