Your TAX, BUSINESS AND TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 11
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 4, line 19, after "Act", insert "that is granted to an employee".
2. On page 8, strike line 10 in its entirety and strike line 11 through "employee's" and insert in lieu there of "wages. An employee shall not be required to make contributions to the fund from".
3. On page 8, line 14, strike "earnings" and insert in lieu thereof "wages".
4. On page 8, line 15, after "pursuant", insert "to".
5. On page 8, line 21, strike "earnings" and insert in lieu thereof "wages".
6. On page 8, line 24, strike "earnings" and insert in lieu thereof "wages".
7. On page 9, line 1, after the period, insert "An employer shall not recover, or seek to recover, any amounts assessed against employers under this subsection from the employer's employees.".
8. On page 9, line 22, after "contributions", insert "to the fund".
9. On page 14, line 21, strike "wages per week" and insert in lieu thereof "weekly wages".
10. On page 16, line 8, strike "earnings" and insert in lieu thereof "wages".
11. On page 20, line 15, after "with", strike the remainder of the line and strike line 16 through "leave" and insert in lieu thereof "documentation of the approved leave compensation request pursuant to department rules".
12. On page 20, line 20, after the subsection designation "D.", strike the remainder of the line, strike line 21 in its entirety and strike line 22 through "taken" and insert in lieu thereof the following:
"Leave taken pursuant to the Paid Family and Medical Leave Act shall not result in a reduction of the total amount of leave to which an employee is otherwise entitled pursuant to contract, policy, collective bargaining agreement or other law or rule in excess of the amount of leave actually taken pursuant to the Paid Family and Medical Leave Act".
13. On page 21, line 2, after the period, insert "An employer shall not require an employee to exhaust any other leave entitlement prior to granting leave pursuant to the Paid Family and Medical Leave Act.".
14. On page 21, line 18, strike the comma and on line 19, strike the comma.
15. On page 25, line 20, after "complaint", insert "with the department".
16. On page 28, line 10, strike "thirteen" and insert in lieu thereof "fifteen".
17. On page 29, line 8, strike "and".
18. On page 29, line 10, after "disabilities", insert the following:
"; and
(13) two representatives of a statewide organization representing labor".,
and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
