AN ACT
RELATING TO THE PUBLIC PEACE, HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE; PROHIBITING CERTAIN LOBBYING ACTIVITIES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. A new section of the Lobbyist Regulation Act is enacted to read:
"[NEW MATERIAL] PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES.--A lobbyist is prohibited from:
A. directly or indirectly coercing or attempting to coerce or threaten a legislator, legislative committee, public officer or government employee to vote, take an official action or perform any other governmental function that benefits the lobbyist or the lobbyist's employer; or
B. offering any money, sexual favor or other thing of value or promise of money, sexual favor or other thing of value for an outcome favorable to the lobbyist or the lobbyist's employer."
