AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR TRANSITIONAL HOUSING AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million eight hundred forty-three thousand dollars ($1,843,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2024 to provide funding to an organization in Dona Ana county that is implementing a transitional housing program in an approximately thirty-two- bed facility for people with serious mental illnesses, people who have substance use disorder and people who have recently been released from incarceration. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2024 shall revert to the general fund.
