AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TO CONTRACT WITH AN ORGANIZATION TO PROVIDE IN-SCHOOL, AFTER- SCHOOL AND OUT-OF-SCHOOL YOUTH MEDIA EDUCATION PROGRAMMING FOR STUDENTS IN NORTHERN NEW MEXICO.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2023 to contract with an organization to provide in-school, after- school and out-of-school youth media education programming for students in northern New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2023 shall revert to the general fund.
