AN ACT

MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FROM THE APPROPRIATION CONTINGENCY FUND TO PROMOTE TOURISM AND PROVIDE FOR HOSPITALITY WORKFORCE PROGRAMS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--

          A. The following amounts are appropriated from the appropriation contingency fund for expenditure in fiscal year 2023:

                (1) ten million dollars ($10,000,000) to the tourism department to develop a cooperative event attraction and promotion program supporting local governments and destination marketing organizations; and

                (2) seven million five hundred thousand dollars ($7,500,000) to the workforce solutions department for the hospitality training and retention reimbursement program.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2023 shall revert to the appropriation contingency fund.
