AN ACT
MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FROM THE APPROPRIATION CONTINGENCY FUND TO ESTABLISH A SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--
A. The following amounts are appropriated from the appropriation contingency fund for expenditure in fiscal year 2023 and subsequent fiscal years to establish a school of public health at the university of New Mexico health sciences center in collaboration with the university of New Mexico and New Mexico state university:
(1) fifty million dollars ($50,000,000) to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico to plan, design, construct, improve, renovate, furnish and equip facilities for a school of public health at the university of New Mexico health sciences center;
(2) twenty million dollars ($20,000,000) to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for salaries, operational expenses and program development for a school of public health at the university of New Mexico health sciences center; and
(3) five million dollars ($5,000,000) to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for salaries, operational expenses and program development for a school of public health at the university of New Mexico health sciences center.
B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the appropriation contingency fund.
