AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE TO ASSIST DAIRY PROCESSING MANUFACTURING FACILITIES TO COMPLY WITH EXECUTIVE ORDERS TO LESSEN THEIR CARBON IMPRINT, ADDRESS WATER SAVINGS AND REDUCE ENERGY USE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty-six million dollars ($26,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure by the New Mexico department of agriculture in fiscal years 2023 through 2025 to assist dairy processing manufacturing facilities to comply with executive orders to lessen their carbon imprint, address water savings and reduce energy use. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2025 shall revert to the general fund.
